A Special Visit to SACH
On Tuesday, June 26th, Andrea Varadi visited the SACH children’s home and the SACH weekly free clinic for Palestinian children at the Woflson Medical Center in Holon. Andrea, who lives in Paris, attended a SACH Young Leadership Group event in New York City, and made it a point to visit SACH while she was in Israel. Below are some thoughts she shared about her visit.
When one thinks of the Middle East the first image coming to mind is probably not a place where miracles happens on a daily base, where Israeli and Palestinian doctors work hand in hand to save children suffering from heart diseases.

Today I discovered Save a Child Heart, this unique place where I heard the laugh of children from Gaza with an Israeli hospital clown, where the Palestinian veiled mother of a child recovering from the surgery has a warm conversation in Arabic with the Israeli doctor, where a child from Angola who arrived two days before between life and death is now in the arms of his mother, healthy.

A microcosm where politics and conflict seems so far that it is forgotten.
